Case study · Route Command
How Discount Ice replaced a phone system, a dispatcher, and an invoice clerk with one system.
- AI voice agent (ARIA) capturing phone orders 24/7
- OptimoRoute routing with automatic rush-order replanning
- GHL invoicing with Stripe Pay Now on every delivered order
Discount Ice is a commercial ice and propane delivery operation in Washington, DC, and the first paying Route Command customer at $12,000 per year. Route Command is Jason's productized AI operating system for truck-based delivery businesses.
The problem
A small commercial delivery operation loses money on the phone line, on the dispatch board, and in the invoice pile. Orders come in by phone at hours nobody is at the desk. The dispatcher has to hand-plan routes and hand-replan them every time a rush order lands. Invoices go out days after delivery, and the collection cycle drags. Every one of those points is a place the operator is either paying for labor that a system should handle or losing revenue to friction.
Discount Ice needed one operating layer that took the phone call, dispatched the truck, sent the invoice, and collected the payment, without a human sitting at every stage.
What Jason built
A full Route Command deployment on the KMS Connect operating platform:
- ARIA voice AI takes phone orders 24/7, extracts business name, delivery address, order details, and delivery timing, and posts a confirmed order to the intake webhook.
- n8n intake flow normalizes phone and web-form orders, deduplicates contacts, and creates or updates the open order in the CRM.
- OptimoRoute integration receives every new order and replans active routes automatically when a rush order lands, or holds non-rush orders for the next normal plan.
- Load and capacity loop aggregates same-day open orders against a one-truck capacity default and flags OK, WARN, or OVER in branded ops notifications so the operator sees a full truck coming before it happens.
- GHL invoicing sends a real Stripe Pay Now link the moment an order is marked delivered, plus a delivered-plus-2-hours review request that feeds the reputation loop.
The result
A delivery operation running on one platform instead of five, with the front end handled by AI voice, the middle handled by routing and capacity automation, and the back end closing on Stripe. Discount Ice became the proof deployment that Route Command works as a productized offer, not a one-off custom build.
